America's Dog, the local chain of hot dog shops, recently unveiled a new road trip-inspired catering menu. The Long Weekender packages ($9.95 per person) play up a cross-country theme by offering hot dogs with toppings and sides that reflect particular regions of the U.S. The South by Southwest option, for example, includes Louisiana-style hot dogs dressed up with barbeque sauce, grilled onions, and tomato and sides such as macaroni and cheese and hush puppies. Get This Show on the Road appetizers range from $4 to $10 per person and include mini corn dogs, bacon-wrapped scallops, and toasted ravioli. The new menu also features special tray selections, snacks, and desserts. The America's Dog crew offers drop-off catering for mimimum orders of $35; the firm also rents out its tabletop and buggy-style hot dog carts, which can be set up at offices or event spaces.
