At Diffa's Dining by Design in New York, Ralph Lauren went with a cozy, ski chalet-inspired look. In the center of the reception space, a reclaimed wood and cinder block communal table was surrounded by wooden stools and topped with tree peonies and candles in clear green and yellow-hued vases. Stephanie Goto also skipped a centerpiece, instead creating what she called a "chan-dine-lier." Designed to feel like dining inside of a chandelier, the quirky table was encircled by fluorescent PVC strips. Inside, a circular bench surrounding the table was interrupted every few feet with a 2-D cut-out of a seated person.

The New York Botanical Garden's annual Orchid Dinner took place at the Mandarin Oriental at Columbus Circle on February 10. In keeping with tradition, the evening featured large-scale orchid installations on its tabletops. One such arrangement, designed by Bowman Dahl Floral & Event Design, combined deep pink orchids with moss, twigs, and small white accent flowers.
