More than 400 guests gathered at the Dolce & Gabbana showroom for a cocktail party and auction benefitting Rx Art, a nonprofit art therapy organization. Produced by Melissa Feldman of MF Productions and Rx Art founder Diane Brown, the event auctioned off 96 one-of-a-kind holiday ornaments designed by artists, designers and celebrities.
The majority of the ornaments were displayed against the room's stark white walls, hung by fishing wire from a red pipe and illuminated by track lighting. A select group of ornaments—including those by designer Zac Posen, artist William Sofield and photographer Cindy Sherman—were hung with stainless steel aircraft cable from transparent tubes created by Mick O'Shea of Builder. A series of 54 cylindrical tubes—varying in length from 26 to 58 inches—were stuffed with silver tinsel and suspended above a 16-foot platform wrapped in linen and seamed with white linen tape. Five custom-produced light boxes were created to illuminate the live auction ornaments.
