As has been the case in recent years, the 55th annual Corcoran Ball on Friday was all about the tabletops. Beyond the soaring arrangements by Jack Lucky, and Perfect Settings' rainbow wheel of linens, the evening's patterned plates and napkins (folded by Occasions staffers) varied drastically in shape and color by room. Here's a look at what the planners came up with.

In the rotunda, where current exhibit "Helios: Eadweard Muybridge in a Time of Change" was the inspiration, three stacked black-and-white plates from Perfect Settings alluded to the photographs. The center plate from the Architect line is reminiscent of a film strip—another nod to the photographic inspiration.
