Eco-Friendly Water Stations

TEDActive guests scooped up logo water bottles upon their arrival (or any time throughout the conference) that served as giveaways, as well as a way to stay hydrated without the use of disposable plastic bottles. Hydration stations let guests fill up easily and as often as they liked.

Interactive Picnic

A picnic lunch Wednesday offered picnic baskets for groups of seven—so each person had to meet six new folks with whom to chat and chow.

Branded Floor Tiles

Talk about a fully immersive experience: The conference took over some of the venue's Spanish tiles for its own brand messaging. The special tiles also served to guide attendees' path along the walkways to the various event venues on the sprawling property.

Zagat's "30 Under 30" Series

Zagat's "30 Under 30" series honors young talent in the culinary industry, and an event to celebrate Chicago's winners took place at Nellcote on March 25. Shiraz Events produced the sleek affair, which focused squarely on the evening's honorees with an award ceremony and a branded wall of fame. Showcasing the young winners—who included food truck owners, chefs, and pastry chefs—the structure held 30 head shots that were illuminated from within. An oversize rendition of the event's logo was at the center of the wall.

Sheraton launched its Social Hour wine promotion with Wine Spectator magazine in May with a series of events billed as a "Toast Around the World." At the press event at the Sheraton New York Times Square, several aspects featured wine corks, including the electronic media kit.

At last year’s Sundance Film Festival, Abel McCallister Designs created a movie-themed space for Chase Sapphire. Interactive photo booth installations allowed visitors to enter the worlds of well-known films that originally premiered at the festival, including Dogtown and Z-Boys. The photo station had guests stand on a skateboard set next to a sideways backdrop of Santa Monica beach; the printed photographs were then turned horizontally to make it look like guests were captured mid-trick on a skateboard ramp.
