The 2011 premiere party for WE TV's Braxton Family Values—a show about singer Toni Braxton—took place atop the London West Hollywood and featured a decidedly feminine look. To gussy up the central pool, florist C.J. Matsumoto covered foam spheres in bright pink flowers, then attached the arrangements to weights anchored to the bottom of the pool.

In March, Vogue Eyewear hosted an al fresco party at a private mansion in Los Angeles. In the backyard, beach balls and a gobo of the brand's logo decorated the pool, around which furniture groupings and lanterns hanging from trees created a summery feel.

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival
A new art piece on the festival grounds called "Mirage," envisioned by festival art curator Paul Clemente and created and executed by experiential design and media company Pearl Media Productions, took the form and architecture of a mid-century Palms Springs mansion, standing at 40 feet tall, 80 feet wide, and 100 feet long. A total of 12 zones of high-tech HD projections made it appear that changing activities were taking place inside the home's rooms and its pool. The project requires 18 gigs of custom content and more than 70 facets of individual video over the course of the six-day festival.

At Create & Cultivate's Los Angeles conference in 2020, all sponsors were offered design recommendations, including floral and greenery options, as well as mood board inspiration. This allowed their activations to match the event's Instagram-friendly aesthetic and theme while still ensuring their messaging was front and center. Main stage sponsor Mastercard, for example, subtly integrated its signature logo in the floral display. This allowed it to appear in every photo captured—without taking away from the stage's gorgeous floral designs. See more: Why Did All the Activations at the Create & Cultivate Conference Look Alike?

At last year’s Sundance Film Festival, Abel McCallister Designs created a movie-themed space for Chase Sapphire. Interactive photo booth installations allowed visitors to enter the worlds of well-known films that originally premiered at the festival, including Dogtown and Z-Boys. The photo station had guests stand on a skateboard set next to a sideways backdrop of Santa Monica beach; the printed photographs were then turned horizontally to make it look like guests were captured mid-trick on a skateboard ramp.
