Looking to add a feel-good factor to an event without incorporating a full-blown fund-raising component? Here are three vendors that support charities while serving an event's purpose.
1. Scheduled to open March 18, Pinkroom nightclub in South Beach will donate a portion of its regular proceeds to breast cancer research charities. The 4,300-square-foot club is decorated with pink lighting, furnishings, and decor accents.
2. Nate Albers and Gary Hendry, owners of Premier Tenting Solutions and Event Rentals in Stuart, also own Disaster Management Group, a company that provides tents, laundry facilities, tables, and other rental items to disaster-afflicted areas. Premier regularly donates its tents, flooring, and other rental items to DMG projects, and most recently provided tents to make temporary shelters in Haiti following the earthquake in January.
3. Room Service by AFR Event Furnishings created its Client Appreciation Donation program in 2008 to benefit the Search Foundation, which assists event professionals in crisis through fund-raising, volunteer services, and donations. The rental company donates $5 from every event it furnishes to the foundation on behalf of its client, no matter the price of the order. In return, the Search Foundation sends a thank-you note to the client for the donation.
