Chambord hosted the official global launch party for its new vodka on August 23 at the Mondrian South Beach. The French-themed party, complete with costumed entertainers, is the first of four production-laden events and 12 smaller parties nationwide.
"Miami is a hip and up-and-coming town that all the beverages want to be a part of," said Hernan Velarde, South Florida market manager for Brown Forman Beverages, which owns Chambord Vodka. "We're a huge city in popularity worldwide for international people coming here, so we want to make sure that those all over the world get to try it."
Approximately 300 media, beverage industry professionals, and local venue representatives attended the cocktail party held on the hotel's pool deck. Upon arrival, guests were greeted by models dressed in French Revolution-style clothing with full makeup and wigs.
In the hotel's lounge area, bartenders served the night's two signature cocktails: Chambord Fleur di Lis and the Chambord Flavored Vodka & Perrier. Asia de Cuba served passed hors d'oeuvres like whipped goat cheese and sun-dried tomato crostinis, beef picadillo empanadas with plum sauce, and assorted maki sushi rolls, as well as dessert bites.
DJ Irie performed until nearly 12:30 a.m. The event also took place in Los Angeles on August 27 at the London West Hollywood hotel, in Chicago on Monday at Epic's rooftop bar, and will be held in New York on September 20 at the Gansevoort Park.
