Since December, AVS Entertainment has been offering giant inflatable screens that can be used inside or out. Ideal for sporting events or private drive-in movie showings, the screens are made of the same soft material as a theatrical movie screen surface, so images appear crisp and clear. The frame is made of PVC fabric and can be inflated with a high-speed air blower. Unlike spandex fabrics, which blow in the breeze, these screens can withstand winds up to 24 miles an hour. There are 20 sizes available; the smallest is 9 by 16 feet and the largest is 100 by 42 ½ feet. Rental fees start at $2,000 for a package including the screen, projector, and labor. —Shari Lynn Rothstein
