A crush of excited attendees hovered around the doors to the closing night party of Meeting Professionals International's (MPI) World Education Congress at Las Vegas' Venetian Hotel-Resort-Casino. The Venetian Fantasy-themed event began when elegant, ghostly Carnival figures greeted guests as they walked into the ballroom. The entertainers then showed guests to their tables, which were set with lush, rich red and gold brocade linens (matched by gold chair covers by Desert Design Group) and stunning centerpieces. (Some centerpieces were short, and others tall, so as not to block views of entertainment.)
The event's entertainment continued throughout the evening, with a carnivalesque troupe performing around the space on small stages and a large center stage giving all guests a good view of the troupe's acrobatic feats. Next, opera singers performed great Italian operatic arias during the dinner courses, which included well-prepared, eye-appealing food.
Dinner was followed by performances from comic Max Alexander and former Saturday Night Live star Dana Carvey. The first-class night ended with late night dancing held in a nightclub.
