4 Tasks Your Ticketing System Should Be Doing Automatically

Rebecca Pappas
April 21, 2015

From eliminating paper tickets to reinventing event marketing, online ticketing software companies like ShowClix have saved countless hours of work for today’s event organizers. That extra time isn’t free, though, and event professionals are busier than ever tweeting to fans, managing a team, and monitoring every sale. While online ticketing has made life easier, there are still many online ticketing-related tasks that have to be done manually.

That’s what ShowClix’s Agent hopes to change. Agent is the industry’s first ticketing automation tool and your always-connected, smart ticketing assistant.

Built on a system of rules and actions, Agent saves users time by automatically carrying out scheduled tasks. With the tool’s set-it-and-forget-it model, ShowClix and Agent can dramatically reduce the amount of time event organizers spend managing their online ticketing.

Here are a few examples of everyday tasks that Agent can handle automatically:

Alert your team. Whether your staff is one ticket taker at the door or you’re admitting multiple ticket types across several entrances, you need to keep an eye on your progress as people are checked in. Agent can automatically send a text or push notification to all of your ticket-scanning devices when a specified amount or all of your tickets have been scanned.

Automate your sold-out notifications. When your event sells out, there is a long list of tasks you and your team need to do — and you need to be quick. Traditionally, this meant you needed to keep signing in and refreshing to see when those last few tickets were taken. With Agent, however, you can automatically deliver notifications (via email, text, or push notification) the moment your last ticket is sold, which means your entire team can immediately get to work.

Let the system tweet for you. Communicating with your customers is a big deal and a big opportunity for event organizers — it’s also incredibly time-consuming. Let your ticketing system take the load off and make an announcement when only a handful of tickets are left, or schedule a promotional code to hit social media when VIP passes are gone. Several social media tools allow users to schedule tweets in advance, but with Agent, tweets can be scheduled for whenever specific actions happen in your ticketing account.

Adjust price levels while you’re away. Your VIP promotional price ends Friday at midnight, but you can’t get to a computer to make the changes in your account. How do you make sure you don’t miss out on that extra full-price revenue? Schedule a date and time, and the system will automatically adjust your price levels for you.

This is just the beginning of what an automation tool like Agent has to offer. With an advanced system like ShowClix, you will become a ticketing power user, spending less time tinkering in your account and more time growing your business.
