CATERING: Chilled Tray Keeps Food Cold

It's a cooling system. It's a serving platter. It's the Frost Cool Tray. Icefield Products, which has offices in the U.S. and Vancouver, B.C., began distributing the Frost Cool Tray in Canada in June. Previously, the product—which includes three reusable freezer packs that prevent chilled foods from warming up during service—was available only in the United States. An insulating mat lies on top of the packs, keeping them cold for up to five hours, while nonslip rubber pads on the base prevent the tray from sliding on a tabletop. The tray, made of frosted blue plastic, measures 10 1/4 by 13 3/4 inches and is dishwasher-safe. The cost is $15 each for single-unit orders; bulk orders reduce the price to as low as $13 each. —Robyn Small
