After being boarded up for almost a year, the Victoria Street spot that once housed Terroni—which moved to a new location on Adelaide Street in late 2007—is home to a new Italian eatery called Osteria Ciceri e Tria. Terroni owner Cosimo Mammoliti opened the new restaurant in early December. The 60-seat space, inspired by the informal taverns in Italy, has one long communal table surrounded by a few smaller tables.

Mammoliti called on Giannone & Associates to transform the space, which now features walls of salvaged spruce. Andrew Di Rosa of Small Design added the finishing touches. The menu, created by head chef Maruizio Marrocco and sous-chef Gianluca Leopizzi, includes dishes like traditional tortellini in capon broth, handmade tria pasta partly boiled and fried with chick peas, and grilled sea bream fillet on rapini purée. Osteria is available for private functions on Sundays.
