Sports and entertainment event producer Stuart Ballantyne and hospitality industry executive Cameron Hawkins have joined VisionCo. to assist the company in planning for the 2010 Winter Olympics, president and C.E.O. Jordan Bitove announced Thursday. "Our team has created and consulted on a number of exciting Olympic-related plans for many of our clients," Bitove said of the sales and marketing organization. "Through these efforts, we are in a position to expand to include two more industry leaders."
Ballantyne, who most recently managed the 2007 MasterCard Memorial Cup for the Vancouver Giants and the 2006 IIHF World Junior Championships for Hockey Canada, has been named project director. Hawkins has been appointed chief operating officer. During his 30 years in the hospitality industry, Hawkins has developed food service plans for events such as the Toronto Molson Indy, the Grand Prix du Montréal, the SARS Relief Concert at Downsview Park, the G7 Economic Summit, and World Youth Day 2002.
