5 New Venues in Montreal for Spring 2021 Meetings and Events

Take a peek at these buzz-worthy restaurants, hotels, meeting and event spaces and more that recently opened in Montreal.

Here's a look at Montreal's new spaces open for events this spring. The new and renovated Montreal venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings and more.

A note regarding COVID-19: At BizBash, we're still committed to bringing you ideas and inspiration for when (yes, when!) events are back up and running. Some of the venues listed here may not yet be available for hosting events due to the pandemic, or they may be operating at a lower capacity.

Cafécoquetel
Cafécoquetel
Co-owners Gabriel Lavallée and Pénéloppe Tancrède envisioned a space as comfortable as their mother’s living room where patrons can sip a hot beverage or enjoy their favorite cocktail, and they brought that space to life this past winter with Cafécoquetel. This hybrid cafe and cocktail lounge is serving up cappuccinos, espressos and other cafe staples as well as alcohol-free hot toddies, dark n’ stormy and amaretto hot chocolate. Guests can also munch on classic grilled cheese sandwiches, smoked salmon tartines and puff pastries. The 700-square-foot space can accommodate as many as 32 people for intimate get-togethers.

Shay
Shay
Based in Griffintown, Shay is a restaurant, tea house and wine bar combining gourmet Lebanese cuisine and pub fare staples such as Philly cheese shawarma, plant-based kefta burgers and Beirut cream pie. Designed by Montreal’s Ivy Studios, the interior design is inspired by Eastern Mediterranean landscapes with hanging light fixtures, built-in table lamps and sconces. After delaying the establishment’s 2020 launch, Lebanese-Quebecoise chef Joseph Awad opened the space in February which, at full capacity, can accommodate 75 guests, plus more than 50 on the outdoor patio.

Inside downtown Montreal’s Humaniti Hotel Montreal Autograph Collection, find h3. Upon its opening (scheduled for June 2021), the restaurant will be offering a range of gourmet breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes harmonizing meat, plant and mineral ingredients with the help of local artisans. Bookable spaces include a business meeting and special event room for up to six guests, a semiprivate lounge overlooking Riopelle Park that seats up to 20 and a secluded table for six located inside a wine cellar.

Oasis Immersion
Oasis Immersion
Oasis Immersion launched this past December, making Palais des congrès de Montréal the world’s first convention center to launch a permanent area dedicated to the immersive technology. Spanning about 24,000 square feet on the ground level, the space offers three sections available for private event bookings and public walk-through exhibits. Each section includes 105 laser projectors and 119 surround sound speakers to enable a 360-degree visual experience. Event organizers will work with the venue's operators to customize hybrid or in-person conferences, gatherings, team-building activities and more. Tickets to attend a public immersive exhibition within the space are currently available online.

TAG E-Karting & Amusement
TAG E-Karting & Amusement
Featuring a three-level "Mario Kart-style" track, the highly anticipated entertainment center is located just outside of Montreal. TAG E-Karting & Amusement is a 65,000-square-foot venue offering laser tag, axe throwing, bowling, virtual reality gaming, arcade consoles and interactive trampoline gaming. A 2,500-square-foot room complete with high-definition projectors and ceiling speakers perfect for corporate team-building events can be booked for up to 150 guests. A private lounge, as well as four dedicated kids' party rooms, are on-site, plus optional catering, liquor and custom branding is available with every event package. The venue is prepared to open this spring.
