Visa Pulls Out of Triple Crown Sponsorship

Visa International, which has sponsored the Triple Crown for the past 10 years, is ending that sponsorship after this year, AdAge reports.Visa will now sponsor only the Kentucky Derby beginning in 2006; a spokesman for the Triple Crown says “several” companies are interested in taking over Visa’s spot.

The summer of Barbie isn’t quite over yet (check out the movie on streaming services this week!), and Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth in Montreal is keeping the fun going with its new Barbie Dream Suite, available for bookings until the end of September. In partnership with Mattel, the pretty-in-pink experience features two spacious bedrooms, a kitchen, and two bathrooms, all adorned with playful design touches like original Barbie artwork, custom-designed pink glassware, a record player with the Barbie movie vinyl, themed books, vintage dolls, and more. The hotel is also offering on-theme baked goods and cocktails, and a Barbie Afternoon Tea on Saturdays.

Chicago’s Color Factory has launched new private event capabilities. The unique 20,000-square-foot space is located inside the iconic Willis Tower and features a variety of immersive rooms including a Chicago River-themed ball pit (complete with two slides and 200,000 mint green balls!). Overall, there are 17 unique exhibit areas throughout the customizable space, along with a 1,500-square-foot lobby lounge that can be rented for large groups. The overall space can accommodate up to 250 people and includes a built-in camera system that allows planners to offer free digital downloads of images from an event.
