Elvis Presley would have turned 77 on Sunday. To mark the King's special day, Lodge Management Group hosted its annual Elvis Fest at the Original Mother's, offering 200 guests a peanut-butter-and-banana sandwich buffet and drink specials such as the Absolut "All Shook Up" martini.
With Elvis karaoke and an Elvis lookalike contest open to guests, there were also five pros called in to serenade the crowd. A fixture at the fest, professional impersonator JD Elvis, took to the stage in a white suit studded with rhinestones and a jaunty Hawaiian lei around his neck.
Through donations at the door, the event raised $1,000 for the New Orleans Musicians Clinic.
