Cirque du Soleil to Once Again Take Over United Center Parking Lot

The now-familiar blue-and-yellow big-top tents will again set up shop in the United Center's parking lot K when Cirque du Soleil's new production, Kooza, comes to town on June 26. The extravaganza has been crisscrossing the country on its way to Chicago and will wrap up this leg of the tour in Boston from September 5 to 28.

The imaginative set for Kooza includes a traveling tower called the Bataclan, which alters the configuration of the performance space as it moves throughout the course of the show. The surface of the stage will be covered in a starry-sky pattern reminiscent of the constellations in the sky on the night Kooza was first performed.

Ticket packages are available for groups of 20 or more, as is Tapis Rouge, a corporate V.I.P. program that includes a cocktail reception before the show and during intermission. A benefit performance for the Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center (an arts and dance resource for inner-city children) takes place July 1, with another on July 10 for CircEsteem (a circus-arts program for Chicago teens). The Chicago series runs through July 27.
