The Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana, which is undergoing a $500 million renovation project set to be completed in August, announced a partnership with Los Angeles-based AEG Live, a national concert promotion, special event, and touring company. The alliance results in the Venue, a theater that will be added as part of the casino's expansion. As part of the multiyear agreement, AEG Live will book and co-promote concerts and act as marketing adviser for the Venue.
Roughly 20 minutes over the Illinois border, the Venue will be designed by Sceno Plus, a Montreal-based company that has worked on numerous Las Vegas entertainment spaces, including the Bellagio Theater, the Wynn Casino Theater, and the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The space includes flexible seating options—retractable lower-level seats can be scaled to create an open general admission floor to accommodate 3,200 people, while seated events can hold 2,300. Six V.I.P. boxes will seat 200 guests in total, and feature plasma TVs and bottle service.
