A Burst Pipe Leads to More Event Space at A Mano

Tonight, River North's A Mano restaurant will host a grand reopening party to showcase its revamped interior, which now offers more space for private dinners and cocktail receptions.

The reason for the change? When a burst pipe forced the Italian eatery to temporarily close its doors in January, owners used the downtime—and the construction workers they had to hire anyway—to reinvent their space.

The venue's back room, which used to seat 30 guests, can now seat 50. At the front of the restaurant, a new semiprivate lounge area can accommodate receptions for 75, and a patio provides alfresco seating for 60.

New cocktails make cheeky reference to the burst-pipe—the "Flood" blends citrus with prosecco, while the "Warped Floor" combines Kahlua and chocolate—and chef John Caputo has added wild mushroom pizza, house-made fennel sausage, and asparagus salad to the dinner menu.
