4. PACIFIERS FOR THE INEBRIATED: City councilor Charlayne Thornton-Joe had a problem on her hands in Victoria, British Columbia: too many violent and loud bar patrons causing disruptions in the street. * BOOK NOTE *
From editor in chief Chad Kaydo: "Before I leave for a week's vacation, I have to tell you: Yesterday I got an advance copy of New York caterer Peter Callahan's book, 'Bite by Bite: 100 Stylish Little Plates You Can Make for Any Party.' It's filled with the inventive, tiny bites he's known for —meatballs with a swirl of spaghetti on top, scrambled eggs in a little bacon cup. It's hard to imagine many people pulling these off at home (who has the time? or such tiny fingers?), but they sure do look great."
