 * INCOMING *

1. OBAMA'S CELEBRITY FETE: A reelection fund-raiser Thursday at Sarah Jessica Parker's Manhattan home drew guests including Meryl Streep, Michael Kors, Anna Wintour, and Andy Cohen. The Hollywood Reporter: "Guests at the event sat at two long tables in two long rooms, with the dividing doors open. Flowers and votives decorated the tables in the home, which was decorated with ample art, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and two large marble fireplaces." Later, Obama attended another fund-raiser at the Plaza hotel, featuring entertainment by Mariah Carey. http://bit.ly/LLJQ79

The New York Post reported that Wintour oversaw the evening's decor, adding a piano and replacing "shabby chic" furniture: http://nyp.st/Lfxt4z

2. CAMPAIGN MARKETING MESSAGES: The 2012 presidential campaigns are crafting custom email messages for voters and potential donors. Last night's Obama fund-raiser had at least seven distinct variations of the message. ProPublica: "The mailings show the campaign tailoring its message for different audiences — variations of the message ranged from a very brief introduction and a link to a video, to a longer email asking for a donation." http://propub.ca/NkEoLd

3. AMBUSH UNDERWEAR MARKETING: A Danish soccer player is in trouble after pulling down his pants to flash the logo on his underwear in a celebration of a goal at the Euro 2012 soccer tournament. The ambush marketing angered tournament officials, whose rules ban players from wearing unauthorized ads. USA Today: "Paddy Power, the betting firm whose logo was on the underwear, tweeted a picture of that logo being revealed right after it happened. But the firm says it didn't pay Bendtner." http://usat.ly/LXbs6v

4. NIAGARA FALLS STUNT: Tonight Nik Wallenda, a descendent of circus performers the Flying Wallendas, will attempt to become the first person since 1896 to walk across Niagara Falls on a wire. The New York Times: "Niagara Falls, in both New York and Ontario, was already buzzing with activity Thursday — sidewalk vendors hawked 'daredevil dogs' and souvenirs, as packs of children clamored for Mr. Wallenda’s autograph. There was much debate about the return of the 19th-century tradition of wire walking. Is Mr. Wallenda crazy? (Maybe.) Is he a tourist gold mine? (Yes.) Would he make it across? (Hopefully.)" ABC, which will televise the walk tonight, insisted Wallenda wear a safety harness. http://nyti.ms/K7rlpE
