Named after baseball's seventh-inning tradition, the Stretch Bar & Grill opened in Wrigleyville on April 10. The menu offers upscale variations on ballpark classics, with items such as short-rib chili, prime Angus burgers, and the bacon-wrapped Opening Day Dog; specialty cocktails are served in vintage mason jars.
Available for full buyouts, the long, narrow alley bar can accommodate 80 for seated dinners, which can be served a la carte, plated, or buffet style. The entire space can host 150 for receptions, and a private dining room in back can seat 50 or hold 80 for cocktails.
The venue works with suppliers who can bring in special audiovisual equipment, and in-house resources include 13 flat-screen TVs. Eight of the TVs are set up in quads, which combine to form two screens that are more than 100 inches apiece. Located behind the main bar and on the back wall of the dining room, the oversize screens can hook up to laptops or DVD players for presentations.
