The Bedford opened in a historic bank building in Wicker Park in late April, and will be available for private events starting in July. The entire space can hold seated functions for 150 guests or receptions for 235; there are also options for smaller groups.
A private dining room can seat 32 or host receptions for 50. The room is equipped with an built-in LCD TV and high-speed internet access; hosts can also opt to bring in Ping-Pong or poker tables. Known as the parlor, the main dining room has a fireplace and can seat 40 guests or hold 60 for cocktails. The Vault—which formerly served as such—can seat 50.
With an in-house mixologist, the venue serves cocktails such as the Cucumber Cooler, made with gin and muddled cucumber, and the Jacknife Judy, which incorporates whiskey, vanilla-tea reduction, and orange bitters. The kitchen churns out oysters with mignonette sauce, roasted organic chicken, and macaroni gratin.
