Bill Hansen of Bills' Catering recently purchased the Loggerhead Cafe in Hollywood's 251-acre John U. Lloyd Beach State Park, from former owner Richard Lauzier. He plans to rent it to groups of any size—meaning anywhere from two to as many as 20,000 people—as it requires no permits to use and no curfews to follow, so planners can have their way in regard to music, hours, tenting, and whatever else they need control over. Sold in a smooth, amicable transaction, the full-service restaurant seats 49 and sits at the north end of manatee sanctuary Whiskey Creek, which has allowed it to provide canoe and kayak rentals in the past.
