What does an integrated information technology and communications company do when it wants to throw a party? It goes high-tech. At least, that's what eLandia did on November 13 for its relaunch party at the Four Seasons Miami. According to Pete Pizarro, former C.E.O. of Telefonica and Beacon council chair, eLandia wanted to present information about the company's new market strategy and growth initiatives to investors.

To accomplish that goal, the team at Media Stage, led by production manager Felix Pike, used projectors and gobos suspended from metal lighting rigs to spell out eLandia's seven main business concepts, such as "Technology Enables" and "Globalization Drives Change," around the room. The rigs also framed the bar and a 20- by 11-foot LED wide-screen that towered above the stage. The space transformed consistently with 12 color changes throughout the evening.

"We wanted to create a style more than just a theme," said Pike. "We are really just an extension of the brand."

Highboy glass-top tables and modern white lounge furniture provided by Room Service Furniture and Event Rentals added to the sleek design of the event and encouraged networking among guests, said Ali Pena of Forums Inc., the event's producers.

The menu consisted of passed hors d'oeuvres-like tuna tartare on cucumber rounds, and truffle and Manchego risotto fritters-and food stations with pasta, salad, wraps, hand-carved beef, and more.
