1. SOCIETY SHAKEDOWN: It's the season in Palm Beach, and perhaps no one knows the scene better than society writer Shannon Donnelly at the Palm Beach Daily News. Yet her critics are charging that she demands exclusive access, banning her competition from black-tie galas and other soirees. New York Times: "The chatter escalated in February, when [Jose] Lambiet wrote on Gossip Extra that several big charities including the Life Foundation, Palm Beach Zoo, and American Red Cross had disinvited him from coming parties. Mr. Lambiet claimed that the charities had 'caved' to Ms. Donnelly’s demand for exclusivity. As a testament to her power, none of the charities would confirm his account." http://nyti.ms/Zz78mn

2FAKE FRIENDS AT A FUNERAL: Ever wondered how many people would attend your funeral? U.K.-based Rent-A-Mourner can ensure a respectable crowd of mourners at your ceremony. Huffington Post: "Actors stand in as friends of the deceased, adding numbers to the crowd, said company founder Ian Robertson, who started the business last year. To help the hired grievers fit in, the actors are briefed about the life of the deceased so that they can talk to other funeral-goers as if they had been friends." http://huff.to/YfQMzY

3. TICKETING TRANSFORMATION: Eventbrite announced a milestone, issuing more than 100 million tickets and registrations. The Next Web: "Eventbrite says this translates to more than $1.5 billion in gross ticket sales since its founding in 2006, adding that one third of those were processed in the last nine months." http://tnw.co/14vK3Wx

4. EVENTS ON TV: Event planner Samantha Goldberg, who has appeared on the Style Network's Whose Wedding Is It Anyway, will debut her own talk show, Getting Sassy With Samantha Goldberg, this spring on the WMCN Network. It will be produced by both Blue Moon Video Productions and WMCN. http://bit.ly/YL5ADd
