BizBash Live: The Expo South Florida is just five short weeks away, and this year there are several additions designed to give event and meeting professionals the inspiration and ideas they need while attending the April 29 event at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center. There's even a new all-access pass that allows holders to attend the Workshop Series, the Event Innovation Forum, the brand-new Design Luncheon, and the expo floor.
Here are just a few reasons to register for this year's expo:
1. You need to brush up on your design know-how.
A recent design quiz created by the Event Leadership Institute revealed a surprising finding: the average industry pro scored 51 out of 100. If you want to find out what's new and innovative—or just get inspired—this year's expo includes the first Four Seasons of Event Design Luncheon. Moderated by Sean DeFreitas, owner of Designs by Sean Inc., the four-course program will showcase unique tabletops from local designers. The luncheon was specially created for social planners and event designers managing any type of social event, including weddings and galas.
2. You want to have your cake—and eat it too.
Food is a big part of events, and, in addition to being able to sample bites from catering companies on the expo floor and dine on a four-course meal at the Design Luncheon, attendees will get the chance vote for their favorite baked creation at the BizBash 15th Anniversary Cake Battle. (There might be an opportunity to try out the cakes, but you'll have to register to find out.)
3. You have questions—lots of them.
You asked for more time with our Event Innovation Forum speakers, and this year we're building a dedicated Q&A session into the program. To wrap up the second Forum session, some of the day's speakers will return to the stage and attendees will be invited to ask their own questions and share their thoughts.
4. You're all about the people part of events.
Need a break from the busyness of work? The BizBash Florida Expo is also a time for networking, where some 1,500 event and meeting professionals come to share ideas, stories, and what's new in their world. Mingle at the pre- and post-parties, and cheer on your peers at the Readers' Choice Awards, which are returning to the trade show floor this year.
5. You're on the hunt for what's new.
With new products, gadgets, and technology coming onto the market every day, just keeping up with what's new is a job in itself. We get it, and we want to help. There will be plenty of new exhibitors on the show floor this year, and the new product showcase will highlight the best new offerings for industry pros. Plus, don't forget what you can learn from the Workshop Series and Event Innovation Forum speakers—from the changing role of technology and the new rules of social media to why planners need to think about emotional design and how to motivate your event team.
