Sports Club/LA's Shari Miller and PR firm Kreps DeMaria enlisted Triton Productions to create and produce a sporting extravaganza. Since the club spans approximately 40,000 square feet, producers Casandra Blanco and Javier Velarde had plenty of space in which to play. With their theme practically built in, they utilized a lot of the equipment, but took it even farther with some red hot South Beach sex appeal.
The evening's first impressive visual came via the 70-foot water wall, which SAV lit with lights that changed colors throughout the night. Models clad in Sports Club/LA micro tees, mini skirts and knee-high boots welcomed guests. Inside, the room was washed in pink and red. A giant hoop, in which a woman was seated, was suspended from trussing. There were numerous stages set up throughout the room, each featuring a different attraction: a boxing ring with beautiful women all dolled up and ready to go a few rounds, a six-foot stage with a high-heeled lady walking on a treadmill, women dressed in camouflage gear to depict a boot camp scenario and a woman dressed in silver riding a bike portraying a spin class of the future. The aerobics studio was converted into a jazz lounge where the sweet, soulful voice of singer Nicole Henry could be heard. There was even a troupe of 12 Taiko drummers on hand to perform. In other rooms, DJ Jody and DJ George spun tunes that encouraged dancing, and when guests worked up enough of an appetite, four fabulous food stations from Thierry's Catering were close by to help sate them. Ceviche, Pacific Rim cuisine, fajitas and a risotto bar were strategically positioned and adorned with floral creations from Pistils & Petals. Celebrity co-hosts included Adrien Brody, Shannon Elizabeth, Julian McMahon and Daisy Fuentes and they were joined by Jim Brown, Simon Rex, Orlando Jones and Tim Hardaway.
