Pupatella, a bright red food cart best known for its thin-crust pizzas, is now bringing its Neapolitan-style menu to events throughout Washington and Virginia. Launched by co-owners Anastasiya Laufenberg and Enzo Algarme last fall, the cart draws long lines in the Ballston Metro station in Arlington. Algarme, who is from Naples (pupatella is Italian slang for doll), cooks dishes inspired by his background. In addition to pizza made to order, menu items include arancini (fried risotto balls), calzones, grilled sausage sandwiches, and a variety of other breakfast and lunch items, most of which are priced under $10. For event catering, a minimum food order of $1,200 plus a $300 booking fee is required.
