The Icon Brickell is one of the neighborhood’s newest urban development projects, consisting of luxury residential units and the Viceroy Miami, which opened Eos restaurant at the end of May.
Set atop the hotel’s 15th floor, Eos is collaboration between chef Michael Psilakis and restaurateur Donatella Arpaia. (The pair also opened Anthos together in New York in March 2007.) The restaurant, whose name means “new dawn” in the chef’s native Greek, dishes out Mediterranean-inspired small plates, many of which include the restaurant’s signature raw items like orange marlin sashimi. Psilakis also serves homemade pastas, meat, poultry, game, and for large parties, a whole spring lamb.
Los Angeles-based interior designer Kelly Wearstler designed the space, merging geometric shapes and bold lines with vibrant colors including violet, yellow, orange, and coral. Seating a total of 90, the indoor dining room has marble floors and is dressed with white and gold columns and sculptural chandeliers. A 27-foot bar topped with pink, yellow, and white marble serves as the focal point of the space and can seat 12.
Eos’s patio overlooks Biscayne Bay and has a capacity of 65. Cream-colored couches are paired with stone tables and Oriental area rugs to create a lounge atmosphere. The space also has a long communal table for groups of 24. Buyouts are available for about 200 guests.
