The Sheraton Yankee Clipper reopened last month as the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel, following a $30 million upgrade to its guest rooms, meeting space, restaurants, and public areas.
The 492-room beachfront hotel has 7,000 square feet of indoor meeting space, and the pool decks have been expanded to 5,600 square feet.
All areas of the hotel have been refurbished with new carpeting, linens, and furniture. A blue and white palette showcases the hotel’s nautical theme, which also includes port holes throughout.
The main building offers event space on two floors. The first has three areas ranging from 187 square feet to 4,082 square feet (when two are combined) and accommodates groups of eight to 250. The second floor consists of the 2,307-square-foot Point Room, which seats 110 or holds 150 for receptions, and the 18-seat Captain’s Boardroom.
For outdoor events, the hotel’s main pool deck holds 175 and the nearby Beachside Building’s bilevel pool deck can host as many as 225 for receptions. The beach accommodates as many as 500.
Dining options include the Wreck Bar, which seats 44, and the Clipper Diner, which has indoor and outdoor seating for 128 and 28, respectively.
