The ninth edition of Art Basel kicked off this week, bringing with it a slew of parties happening throughout Miami Beach, the design district, Wynwood, and beyond. Although some are recurring events, such as the always-packed Museum of Contemporary Art/Vanity Fair opening night party on Wednesday, other entities, such as Nespresso, are introducing new concepts. The coffee brand partnered with Indian fashion designer Manish Arora for N-Art, a fashion show and party showcasing his artistic reinterpretation of the brand.
Sotheby’s, for its part, hired Shiraz Events to helm a safari-themed luncheon to suit this year’s venue, the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens in Coral Gables. Meanwhile, a new pop-up, the Garden Café, made its debut directly across the street from the Miami Beach Convention Center, aiming to serve guests shuttling between Art Basel and neighboring fair, Design Miami.
Here’s a look at some of the happenings from earlier this week.
