βItβs amazing what happens as soon as you put a shovel in the ground. Weβre going to see a lot more private-sector support in the months ahead, now that construction is going vertical,β said museum board chairman Aaron Podhurst.
Proceeds from the luncheon will support an exhibit next year titled "The Record: Contemporary Art and Vinyl." In recognition of that, pastry chefs from the Four Seasons created replicas of vinyl records made from sugar for the centerpieces. The luncheonβs invitations and signage, created by Allemant Designs, also included an image of a record. Throughout the luncheon, guests viewed a slide show of images from the exhibit, as well as renderings of the new museum.
Presenting sponsor South Motors parked two cards at in the hotelβs valet area for guests to see as they arrived. Additional sponsors included Bank of America, which was the recipient of the museumβs Corporate Honors Award and announced a $1 million donation to the museumβs capital campaign.
The luncheon menu included mojo-marinated chicken breast, yuca frita, and pencil asparagus with a cilantro mojo salad.
