Clinton's Office Opening Party

Posted 07.19.01
When Bill Clinton arrives at his new Harlem office on July 30, he'll be greeted with a warm welcome--and with layer upon layer of cake. The New York Daily News reported that Representative Charles Rangel (D-NY) is heading a 70-member committee to host a block party on 125th Street to greet the former president. For the more than 1,000 expected attendees, Wimp's Southern Style Bakery is planning to bake a massive cake topped with a Clinton-themed photocollage. When we spoke to Donna Clayton, one of Wimp's owners, she told us, "We were Clinton supporters before he decided to move in next to us, but we're looking for a lot of good things to come out of this."
