Groovejet, a recently renovated SoHo lounge in the former space of Jet Lounge from Miami club impresarios Greg Brier and Alex Duff, takes you back to the 50's with retro lounge decor and a laid-back atmosphere. The lounge features bench seating covered in pale green velour, dark brown walls covered with chain mail, and short brown and green cocktail tables. The dark wood bar is decoratively lit with an amber-colored light, and has black vinyl-topped barstools set in front. The kitchen, run by Gillian Lowe and Diane Gordon of catering company Entertaining Ideas, offers a continental French-based menu of canapes, with items like mini croque monsieurs, risotto cakes and tuna tartare on miso tuilles. The space can hold 250 for cocktails. --Suzanne Ito
