The Gershwin Hotel has revamped its lobby with the new Gallery at the Gershwin bar and lounge and Tang restaurant. The lounge area has curvy oversized red banquettes, orange lounge furniture and a wall adorned with funky orange donut-shaped light fixtures. The bar and lounge hold as many as 100 and share a wall dominated by a large mural depicting red, pink and white irises and chrysanthemums. A few steps above the lounge is a screening room that seats 50 and is evocative of an old private club rich with wood paneling. An upstairs private room called Room 27 holds 40. Tang, located in the lounge space, offers a Latin-Asian fusion menu. The bar and lounge will open tomorrow, and restaurant service is slated to begin in early February. —Tiffany Sumner
