With all the buzz around Al Gore and his new documentary An Inconvenient Truth, Rodale drew a good crowd to a party for the new book by the same name that the Men’s Health publisher released in May. We couldn’t make it to the event—can you believe how busy this month has been?—but Rodale associate event manager Nicole Diamant told us that more than 300 people did show up at the Museum of Natural History on Monday. (They had been hoping for 200. Not bad for a book about climate change.)
With people saying Gore has finally found his voice—and talking about his newly invigorated political possibilities—we decided to look into the details of booking him as a speaker. Some speculate his fee is in the six-figure range, but a spokesperson at his office says he employs a sliding scale, based on the nature of the group and the event. He is represented by the Harry Walker Agency.
