What are some tristate destinations for corporate retreats?
Whether you’re taking employees or corporate clients away for business, fun, or a mix of both, here are a few noteworthy venues within driving distance that fit a variety of needs.
For an idyllic setting and plenty of pampering, check out Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa, an hour and a half from Manhattan. The 70-acre estate offers 13 guest rooms, manicured gardens, and Hudson Valley-inspired cuisine by in-house chef Jodi Cummings. In June, the inn upgraded its spa by adding a water treatment room, a saltwater pool, and additional massage and aromatherapy treatments. The luxurious Thomas Henkelmann-Homestead Inn in Greenwich, Connecticut, offers a 1,000-square-foot boardroom and 18 unique guest rooms and suites, but the food is one of the inn’s biggest draws. Henkelmann, an award-winning chef and the inn’s founder, offers seasonal French cuisine in his namesake restaurant, which was recently inducted into the prestigious Grandes Tables du Monde de Traditions & Qualité, an international society of select restaurateurs. Two private dining rooms are available, and clients have rented out the entire inn as well.
Planning a really big meeting? The Heldrich, which opened in New Brunswick, New Jersey, in April, offers a spacious 25,000-square foot conference room equipped with wireless Internet and audiovisual capabilities like LCD plasma screens. After-hours, guests can take in a show at one of the three performing arts centers within walking distance.
