Events and meetings can take place off the boardwalk and on a boat, where groups can bond on chartered cruises.
Equipped for Events
Atlantic City Cruises charters the 150-person Cruisn 1, one of the few local boats regularly used for tours and events that has an enclosable upper-level deck so it can be booked year-round. The vessel comes equipped with a 20-kilowatt generator for events, enough to handle the electricity needs for catering crews and entertainers. The company also provides morning and evening sightseeing cruises on the Cruisn 1.
For Casual Groups
For smaller groups, the 18-person Atlantic Star comes complete with TVs, a stereo system, and a galley for food preparation. As one of the only watercraft in the area available specifically for events as well as casual meetings, this vessel can also be used for fishing. The Atlantic Star is booked through Les Kammerman’s Atlantic City Marina, a boatyard located in Clam Creek, just west of Gardner’s Basin.
Hands-on Coaching
Although many of the sailboats moored in Atlantic City marinas are privately owned, Captain Ken Wescoat offers the Summer Breeze, a 34-footer with room for six guests. In addition to hosting half-day and full-day charters on the Summer Breeze, the company provides sailing lessons for groups, with hands-on experiences or basic tips on navigation.
