"Tired of looking at all those perfect bodies with perfect faces?" the invitation asked. "Think all you need is a little hair and makeup?" That's how Levi's went fishing for models for its Lookbook Model Search photo shoot and party at Sun Studios. The jeans company used the event to entertain some young fashion folks while recruiting models and shooting its fall 2001 lookbook (the portfolio of photos of a company's clothes that it sends to fashion editors).
While the photo shoot took place in one area of the large studio space, some of the images were projected on the curved cyclorama wall in an adjacent studio that housed the cocktail party part of the event. But the young crowd of perfectly tousled fashion folks sipping cocktails seemed more interested in munching the hors d'oeuvres (from China Blue)--and grooving to hip-hop sounds from DJ Cheech--than looking at the pictures.

A group of young fashion folks went to the Levi's Lookbook Model Search party at Sun Studios.

DJ Cheech spun hip-hop songs and a few disco hits.

Partygoers sipped cocktails in one of Sun Studios' undecorated photo studios.

During the cocktail party, images taken in the adjacent photo studio were projected onto the curved cyclorama wall.
