The Smirnoff vodka folks are taking a stab at reinvention with the company's new Twist line of flavored vodkas, and to celebrate the new products' launch they hired corporate event planners EventQuest. The event company completely made over a stodgy former bank on the corner of Spring and Lafayette in order to create an imaginary land called Twistotica.
The look: Bright colors. Tons of neon gobo lights danced on the space's high-ceilinged, cement-colored walls. A Lucite and chrome bar lit with neon pink lights stood in front of a giant projection screen that displayed random, disparate images (edited by KAM Communications) of everything from Austin Powers and Psycho scenes to bright images of the new Smirnoff bottles.
Guests could rest their feet from dancing to music from DJ Derek Corley on EventQuest's custom-made flat square bed seats covered in raw silk and colorful throw pillows. In another corner of the room, orange and white striped seats were arranged to look like the back of a limousine, complete with a bright orange, Smirnoff-bottle shaped rug in the center.
