To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Montreal-based jewelry company Kaufmann de Suisse debuted a new diamond collection called Cascade and hosted an intimate viewing of the collection in its Madison Avenue retail store, where it showed off the sparkling gems in an innovative way.
Kaufmann de Suisse vice president Charles Kaufmann hired Amy Rosi of Aros Communications to produce the event. Rosi then turned to Matthew David Events to help execute her vision of using a three-tiered marble fountain as an open display case for the new collection (a fountain serves as a centerpiece for each of Kaufmann de Suisse's three retail locations). "The fountain is always here, and the whole collection is called Cascade," Rosi says, "so we thought, 'Let's put it in the fountain.'"
Bells of Ireland, green amaranthus, lilac roses, ladyslipper orchids, black calla lilies, hydrangea, fiddle fern, lavender, thyme and jasmine were arranged to "mimic water flowing from the edges of the fountain," said Matthew David Events' Jason Lord. "The earrings, which were clipped to the ladyslipper orchids, emanated drops of waters falling from the petals."
The Mark Hotel provided individual chocolate mousseline cakes that had the Kaufmann de Suisse carriage logo silk-screened onto the tops, and Veuve Clicquot donated Champagne, in honor of the company's anniversary as well as the event's timing—it happened on Bastille Day.
