Set to open on Friday, the West Loop's Market offers proximity to U.S. Cellular Field (and a shuttle to transport guests to and from the game) along with a beer garden and a cabana-equipped rooftop. Here's a look at the venue's event capabilities—and, since warm weather is on the way, details on two additional spots that offer event packages and rooftop cabanas.
1. With a bar and a dining area, Market's first floor houses 20 42-inch flat-screen TVs and one 92-inch projection screen. The space can seat 175 or host 250 for cocktails. On the west side of the building, a 2,500-square-foot beer garden can seat 100 and offers four more flat-screen TVs, while a sidewalk cafe provides seating for 60. Upstairs, the 4,000-square-foot rooftop lounge, which has seven cabanas, can seat 200. Chef John Rosetti oversees an American menu that includes whimsically presented fare such as mac-and-cheese muffins served in a picnic basket and shrimp and pork tenderloin skewers shaped to resemble football goal posts.
2. In River North, NV Penthouse Lounge sits on the 12th-floor rooftop of an office building. For private events, the venue offers a slew of branding opportunities—from logo-shaped ice sculptures to gobo projections—and the whole space can host receptions for about 280 guests. Off the main lounge and bar area, a 600-square-foot terrace with views of the city skyline and six cabanas can accommodate 50 guests for cocktails. The venue's appetizer packages include items such as coconut shrimp with mango sauce, bruschetta, and mini quiches.
3. Bucktown's Chaise Lounge, which specializes in American fare such as crab cakes and beef short ribs, offers 2,500 square feet of alfresco dining space. A garden patio can seat 60 guests and accommodate 100 for cocktails, while the cabana-filled rooftop patio can accommodate 100 for cocktails and seat 55. Staffers can cater events with buffets, passed appetizers, and plated dinners, and the venue's in-house audiovisual equipment includes a DVD player and a six-foot projection screen that can hook up to laptops.
