Eatz is a new service for culinary-minded group outings. The school offers hands-on cooking lessons in its intimate kitchen, situated in a West Hollywood townhouse, or at an off-site locations. Niki Tehranchi, who trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Hollywood, offers a variety of classes that include steak house-themed offerings, where teams learn how to make a blue cheese-crusted steak, for example. There is also a cocktail party-oriented class which shows students how to make light hors d’oeuvres like stuffed grape leaves and prosciutto-wrapped figs. Tehranchi accepts special requests for lessons in a particular type of cuisine and with culinary director and partner Dolores Ervine can create cook-off contests between teams of employees. Lessons start at $70 per person and include all cooking materials, ingredients, wine and cocktail pairings, and appetizers served prior to the lesson. Private lessons require a minimum group of 10 students.
