In two years, Nina Paugh's arrangements have given her a reputation in the business for being innovative and trendy.

TITLE: Floral director at conceptBAIT Inc., St. Petersburg

IN THE BEGINNING: Paugh, 26, developed her technique at a flower shop in Norway, then returned to the United States in 2000. She joined conceptBAIT in 2004. Clients include Premier Beverage Company, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the City of Tampa, and the St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts.

KNOWN FOR: Paugh can create idyllic centerpieces but prefers large, bold arrangements that fuse fantasy and whimsy with flowers such as a five-piece floral chandelier made with a variety of flowers and swaths of fabric that extend to each corner of the room.

MOST SIGNIFICANT EVENT SO FAR: For the launch of Partida Tequila in September, Paugh's floral design was inspired by the amber, clear, and blue-hued bottles of the brand, which she also incorporated into the arrangements. "I hollowed out oranges and limes to hold votive candles as accents," she says. The Partida owners were so impressed they hired conceptBAIT to produce additional launches.

WHAT TO WATCH: "I'm combining more fruit and vegetables into my creations, such as using mini pumpkins and oranges as hanging votive candle holders," says Paugh.

HOT TREND: Her clients are asking for a combination of tall dramatic floral centerpieces plus smaller and lower ones to interchange on tables. "The mix in styles saves on the budget while keeping the same effect," she says.
