Mike Hines, co-owner and creative director of Epoch floral studio, recently launched Mack Daddy classes for private groups. Held within the 4,000-square-foot River North studio, the decadent outing—which Hines describes as "more of a party than a class"— begins with a two-hour lesson in flower arranging. Hines provides seasonal and rare-breed flowers for guests to work with, and classes, which can involve customized teambuilding activities, explore topics such as hand-tied bouquets and container arrangement. At the end of the session, guests can take their creations home; or the floral studio can deliver them to homes or offices the following day.

Throughout the event, cocktails and appetizers are served, and the outing culminates with a sit-down dinner at a table that Hines decorates for the occasion. Mack Daddy classes are for as many as 12 people, and start at $200 a head if hosts arrange their own catering; for $400 a head, food and drink are included.
