Aimee Empey of Charlestown-based Paper, Gowns & Glory creates custom floral arrangements, tabletop centerpieces, and chandeliers made of recycled, imported, and locally sourced papers. The design firm is celebrating its first year in business, though Empey has been selling commissioned mixed-media corporate art for years to clients such as Bain Capital and the Children’s Hospital Boston. The bulk of her current work includes custom floral arrangements, which she sees as a way for businesses to incorporate flowers into their event decor while limiting costs, since the pieces don’t wilt.

Empey’s pieces also offer ways to incorporate sponsor branding into events in the form of mobiles, favors, or even window installations, much like the ones she’s done for the Boston Marathon in the windows of the Sports Club/LA. Other corporate clients include TRP Marketing and Campus Entertainment. Prices vary and typically start at $20 per stem for individual flowers; arrangements and other installations start at $150.
