New York is teeming with beautiful people, and many of them were all in one place for a party celebrating People en Espanol's annual 50 Most Beautiful People issue. For People en Espanol event marketing director Carolyn Chauncey, NYC
Tone produced an event at Splashlight Studios that rivaled the guests for sleekness and style.
White light projected in polka-dot or constellation-like patterns illuminated the floors in the main party space and in the adjacent V.I.P. lounge. A Finelite projector that allows images to scroll around the inside or outside of venues without seams or distortions--a cool effect--projected images of the 50 people named in the magazine on the walls throughout the space.
Flower arrangements were bright and spring-like mixes in cylindrical glass vases containing colored water and Mylar garlands. Outside, guests could take a break in a smoking lounge fully tented by P. J. McBride. (Wait a minute—is that legal? Actually, we have to point out, it isn't.) Inside the tent, vibrant flower arrangements emerged from the open center of white benches configured in a square.
The bars, partially sponsored by Johnnie Walker, were underlit with a red glow for a light box effect. Another sponsor, Matrix hair care, provided a booth for guests to have their hair touched up after grooving to a performance by Latin crooner Louis Fonsi.
