On June 2, restaurateur Tomal Bouzid opened Bistro Bistro, a spacious two-story French restaurant with private dining and a veranda. The airy Dupont Circle venue has Provence-meets-Tuscany decor, with walls in muted shades of salmon and mustard, elaborate moldings, and chocolate-colored floor tiles.
Just inside the door is an eight-seat black granite bar with frosted glass panels, which faces the 70-seat main dining room. At the rear of the main level is a 25-seat lounge area furnished with sofas and club chairs.
Up a wide flight of stairs, there is a 60-seat private dining room that has two 42-inch flat-screen TVs and access to a veranda, which can seat up to 20 guests.
The traditional French bistro fare includes onglet steak au poivre and escargot a’ la Bourguignonne.
